Six staff members at South-East based timber merchant Champion Timber have completed the Level 3 Leadership Management certificate from the ILM (Institute of Leadership Management) as part of the company's on-going training and development programme for its 195 strong workforce.
The training was completed in conjunction with accredited learning centre Tourism South East and the course was specifically tailored to meet Champion's business working practices.
The staff that have achieved the ILM Level 3 Leadership Management qualification include Francis Blewit, Dan Heath, Ian Ridland, Max Russell, Kevin Simper and Jonothan Thrumble.
Personnel were selected after a 2 day assessment that identified how training could help future development of individuals from a variety of roles such as desk sales staff and supervisors. Core elements of the course that required both self-study and written assignments included; core management skills, team leadership, change innovation, managing people relationships and leadership.
